Having captured some of our planets most spectacular displays as part of our filming exercises, Participate is making an effort to reduce our own impact on our environment. We will be adopting new innovative ways to conserve energy, and reduce our carbon footprint.

As a start, we are removing 80% of printing media and transforming to electronic delivery. Reductions in paper usage are a great way to reduce deforestation, affecting some of our most cherished wildlife. There are many more ways you and your company can contribute to reducing the effects of global warming.

Your company could reduce its own CO2 emissions. It’s easy, and saves money.
Here are a few tips.
• Avoid unnecessary printouts
• Use energy efficient light globes and appliances
• Turn off computers, lights and other appliances when not in use or at night
• Ask about e-billing. Start with your phone and electricity companies
• Reduce paper usage –use email for many inter-office and external communications

BBM, formerly the Big Brother Movement have been supporting young people since 1925, when Big Brothers would mentor young British immigrants to successful and rewarding lives in Australia.

This fine tradition continues today and BBM provided much needed funds which allowed Participate to purchase additional teaching resources, including specialised books and DVDs.
