I am proud to announce the achievements of the Participate Class 2007. Green Fire Envy, through the efforts of self-distribution, showed across Australia and qualified for the L’Oreal Paris 2008 AFI Awards and the Inside Film Awards 2008.

Students hope to earn a nomination in various categories such as, Sound Design/Score (Adam Luck), Cinematography (Shared award), Best Young Actor/s (Ashleigh Cummings 14, and Jessica Arapi 16), and Editing (Sebastian Kade, 15).

I am proud of the young cast and crew that worked together on this film and invite everyone to attend the AFI screenings and Vote to support young Australian film makers.

The Inside Film Awards are the people’s choice film awards celebrating champions in Australian film. Again we encourage you to view the films and vote online.

The Class of 2008 has begun pre-production of the next feature film Sweet Marshall premiering 15 April 2009. This year Participate will extend auditions for Actors roles in the feature film to all Australians. Auditions will take place throughout October for production in November 2008. Also this year, Participate Film Academy has set up an Advisory Board. This board of experienced film industry and business professionals will assist us in improving the quality of education provided through our school, as well as opportunities for our graduates.

Participate has also begun implementing the process of becoming an Accredited and Registered Training Organisation. This will provide our students with a recognised qualification in addition to the internationally recognised feature film credit.
