At Participate we are constantly delighted by our student’s achievements. The featured students below have shared their results of their talent
combined with determination since graduation from Participate Film Academy.
Battle Therapy and Battle Therapy too – Class of 2006
Angela Pezzano
Upon graduation from Participate, along with 2 other students Paul Kleynjan
and Dulce de Guzman, I co-founded our own production company Nuh! Productions.
As a company we are currently in production of a feature, set for production
December 08. I will be credited as writer/director. Paul is producing
and acting, Dulce is producing. We're in the middle of crew auditions
and first round of cast call out and funding. Should be more info on our
Nuh! Productions facebook page too. I was stage manager for a play called
Girl from the West of the City by renowned playwright Wayne Tunks in May
08. Also, focusing a lot of energy on our film called Who Knew.
Paul Kleynjan
Since Participate I have become a co-founder of Nuh! Productions, along
with Angela Pezzano and Dulce de Guzman. A production company writing/directing
and producing feature films. We are currently in early stages of production
for a film called Who Knew, which I am producing. We have maintained a
lot of contact through Participate who frequently make appearances in
our films.
Dulce de Guzman
Also a co-founder of Nuh! Productions with Paul Kleynjan and Angela Pezzano,
as part of which I have had various cast roles in feature films. The next
is a film call Who Knew, starting production in December 08. I have also
been involved in many corporate productions for Art of Multimedia.
Christophe Delhaze
Since Participate, I have been doing various corporate productions editing
and sound for Art of Multimedia, and have also stretched my legs in web
design. Most recently I have taken up an editing position in the network
ten newsroom, TV is a different experience, and very fast-paced! Love
it!
Kieran G. Donovan
A talented script writer, Kieran has worked on various productions since
Participate, and is now writing and directing his own work. He wrote and
co-directed the feature film The Day Hollywood Died, set for release Dec
08. He is currently writing a screenplay for the production company, Destria
Entertainment to begin production 2009. And his most recent screen play
Klobbers is due to commence production March 2009. Funshine, his latest
feature script, is going into production in 1st November 08, and The Teddy
Soul is in development production scheduled in October 2009.
John Alexander
I recently did the Sound design and Lighting Design for the Pulse Group
Theatre production of Five Women Wearing the Same Dress. I will be doing
the same for the upcoming Pulse group Theatre production of Spiked Heels.
Tristan Velasco
Tristan hasn’t stopped! Since graduating Participate he has taken up freelance
work for Art of Multimedia is editing and post-production for corporate
videos and TV commercials, and also featured in the Participate cinema
commercial. Working with Melissa Klioris, fellow graduate, on a short
film, and also with Ben Richardson (class 2007), and Mike Krijaz (class
2007), on a short film entered into Tropfest 08. Most recently he has
been working as a graphics artist for Mink Magazine, an online publication
for new/upcoming artists, published by Monica Kade (Class 2006 lead actress
Battle Therapy).
Elizabeth Hamilton
I did Costumes for a film 'The Hunt', and I'm currently studying makeup
at The Makeup Technicians. I need work experience for my course so if
there are any projects that need a makeup artist I am very interested.
Melissa Hanes
I've been in a film with Sam Noble and directed by Rohan M Hoole, just
a short role. I've also been a feature film called "The Makeover"
with Martin Dingle-Wall. I've been cast in another feature called "Vanity"
as a supporting actress. And I’ve just finished a short film called "Ride"
which I played the lead in as an assassin. I have also been contacted
by a Romanian lady to do a Sitcom which will be aired on SBS. Apart from
that, I got an agent, and I’m working towards travelling to USA within
a year.
Erik Rizk
Art, Just wanted to thank you for the contacts that I gained while at
Participate ... as a result, I not only gained some brilliant friends
but also landed the role in my first feature The Day Hollywood Died'.
This has also led to more roles in short films: The Hold Up and PostHuman
and more recently a stage show, similar to Thank God You're Here performed
at NIDA last month…Battle Therapy was actually the first feature so I
guess that's '3' features since completing Participate ... and counting.
Cory Colby
Since Participate, Cory has worked on numerous productions. The 7th Hunt
(feature) as a Grip; The Day Hollywood Died (feature) as a camera operator;
Post Human (feature)as a camera operator; Stinkwater 24 short film festival
as a camera operator; 5 corporate video's; cooking show for Foxtel; The
Holdup (short film) as a Director of Photography and also working in post–production;
and another 3 features lined up but not confirmed.
Elizabeth Cornwall
Elizabeth has appeared on Out of the Blue T.V. series and is co-producing
and directing a children's film with my daughters who were inspired by
Battle Therapy and who have also picked up a cd/dvd contract with major
record/film company.
Lidia Dimoska
I finished up Battle Therapy, and continued high school. This year is
my HSC year. I am further my skills with Drama classes. I also scored
support cast role as ‘Hannah’ in Green Fire Envy, the class of 2007 produced!
Bradley Tomlinson
Far from slowing down, since Participate, Bradley is always looking for
work and finding it. He featured in Lovely Scary Wolves, directed by Rohan
Michael Hoole, and also in a feature filmed in Melbourne called The Gates
of Hell. Also stretched his legs playing ‘Gus the theatre cat’ in an amateur
stage production of Cats. Also featured in an amateur production of The
Producers. Bradley also made an appearance in The Day Hollywood Died.
Daniel Madani
Since completing Participate, Daniel is fulfilling various roles in advertising
and marketing. He is always looking for new ways to further his skills.
Stephanie Mak
Stephanie has taken up full time work in marketing and visual merchandising
since her cameo appearance in Battle Therapy. Due to full-time work commitments,
she has taken up video editing from home, and plans to work on her own
project shortly.
Joseph Chan
Joseph is all about furthering education, he is currently in his final
year in a degree in law.
Nenif David
Currently head hunting for an agent, and doing casual work on the side,
Nanif was cast in Keiran Donovan’s feature film as a criminal The Day Hollywood Died. He
is always on the look out for a new role.
Maroun Joseph
Maroun is currently scouting the USA to enrol in another film course.
Most recently he was cast as criminal in The Day Hollywood Died along
side his partners in crime Ben Hanley and Nenif David.
Green Fire Envy – Class 2007
Catherine Neasbey
Following Participate FA, I started working as a full-time project manager
for Art of Multimedia, working on TV commercials and various productions,
as well as assisting at the Academy anyway I can. I am currently helping
out the next wave of students with the new Australian film Sweet Marshall, and still working towards my long term goal, being
a Production Manager for Pixar Entertainment. I also featured as an extra
in a feature called Combination alongside several other Participate graduates.
Also, recently, I am ecstatic Green fire Envy has qualified for the AFI
Awards and the IF Awards 08.
Andrew Bettridge
When I am not working as a National Agency Creative Director at Nova 969
in Sydney, I am scripting my first feature film as writer/director. My
role at Nova includes multimedia presentations using skills I learned
at Participate.
Ashleigh Cummings
Currently being cast is a pilot for new series currently in production
in Sydney, Ashleigh Cummings has continued to amaze audiences with television
commercials, for products such a Helga’s bread, and repeat auditions.
She is also continuing her high school education. This coupled with her
entry to the 2008 AFI Awards as a nominee for best actress, will certainly
see her career quite highlighted.
Magali Gillon
Following Participate FA, I moved back to Montreal, Canada. I'm presently
working full time as a production manager and project developer at Match
Prod for short TV programs. We are expanding the business throughout Canada
and even France and England. I'm also working on various projects as writer/producer/director
for short films and feature films. I will be moving by the end of the
year to Vancouver, BC to work on feature films. I'm more than ever into
this industry and can't wait for what’s coming up next.
Chester Ferro
Since Participate I have been stretching my legs in the field of music
video production. Having recently produced, directed and edited a video
for 2007 Top 12 Australian Idol nominee Joseph Gatehau. The video will
soon to be airing on Channel V, MTV, Network 10 and ABC’s rage.
Tracey Maxwell
This year, after Participate, I wrote/produced my first short film Before
Dark for entry into the Flake Film Festival in September. A lot of the
cast and crew are fellow graduates from Participate. 1st A.D/editor Leigh
Murray, D.O.P Alex Vanamois, and Unit Manager Jacqui Murray, Production
Assistant James Peniata, lighting and sound Tim Kho and Moises Arteaga.
Cast includes Jose Carilo, Ricardo Rosa and Jessica Arapi. Also, I was
an extra on The Cedar Boys, starring Rachel Taylor and an extra in a film
called Combination and a Cass Eager music video. I have been in 4 Short
Films with supporting roles. And Heaps of other random projects.
Leigh Murray
Currently I am working at Network TEN as a Promotions Production Coordinator
and Jnr Producer, editing promos and graphics for shows on network TEN.
I have also been cast in a supporting role in an Australian Drama My Mate
Mick which is a feature film. Also, a group of Green Fire Envy Participate
students, including myself, are working on a short film called Before
Dark where I am Producer, 1st AD, editor and featured extra. And through
all this I am writing a script for a feature that is a drama/comedy that
I hope to submit to the AFC or one of the other funding bodies.
Jessica Lytton
After Participate I enrolled into The International Film School Sydney
and am now a full time student. I have made a number of short films and
am currently working on my major project. After school I plan on moving
to India and pursuing a career in Bollywood.
John Clark
Following attending Participate Film Academy, I have been attending the
Sydney International Film School for further study, building editing,
directing, producing and technical skills necessary to creating moving
character journeys. We just wrapped production on 16 six minute short
films, shot over a period of 4 weeks. In the future, I wish to be able
to direct the audience's emotion as much as I direct the actor's. More
immediately, after graduating, I wish to travel to Europe
and try my hand at some classic European cinema. I love telling stories.
James Peniata
Since Participate I have worked on two short films and am preparing to
shoot a third, i have appeared in a music video and as an extra on The
Cedar Boys. I am also working with friends and fellow Participate graduates
Tracey Maxwell, Jessica Arapi, Jacqueline Murray and Aleksei Vanamois
on a short film in which I have a lead role. I am also preparing to audition
for a supporting role in another feature film shooting later this year.
